I just got back from hiking Estes Park Colorado. We did 30 miles in three days from Bear Lake up to Flat Top Mt. Elevation 12,324 ft. and these boots were fantastic! No blisters, light weight, plenty of ankle support, good grip over the terrain, they let your foot breathe while keeping water out, and ultimately would I buy them again? Yes, absolutely. The Good:I love these boots. I wanted to wait a couple months after wearing them before leaving a review. Right out of the box they were very comfortable. I need good ankle support and the cable system manufactured in these is brilliant. The fact that you can adjust the tension on your ankles is genius. I wear all my hiking boots for work in construction as a carpenter. These boots are super light and wear more like a sneaker. I have another pair of Keens that are an actual mid-work boot. They are leather and the uppers are very tough, but overall quite heavy. So far the soles on these are perfect for outdoor work especially when walking through a lot of crushed stone and having heavy rough surfaced objects rub against the upper part of the boot. Abrasion resistance has been very good. I've yet to have them submerged in water, but so far no moisture inside when exposed to wet muddy conditions or working in downpours. The Bad:In less than one week two of the quick lace hooks snapped off. Apparently something heavy leaned against the right boot and pressed the two upper "hooks" inward, crushing in on the lace and preventing me from unlacing the boot at the end of the day.I gently pried the first hook back just enough to free the lace and it snapped. I applied even less pressure on the second hook and it too snapped. This kind of ticked me off because I've had this happen before with other boots and I've always been able to simple pry the hook open back to its original shape without a problem. This particular boot was given hooks with a much less maluable metal.I was going to send them back after only a week but decided instead to order a set of cheap speed lace replacements. It cost me $12 but they're fixed. (see photo of right boot) However for a $160 boot I expected more.I would buy these again based on my experience so far. I usually buy two pairs of this type of boot every 18 months or so.Update 7/16/20:So unfortunately these boots have continued to not meet my expectations. Another hook snapped off on the other boot. This time simply while tightening them. (I don't have gorilla strength) so this was unfortunate.I also noticed after working a number of early mornings that simply walking around in wet grass (lawn height, not tall grass) left my socks quite wet. This really bummed me out because I had a whole day of work ahead of me and with the heat and humidity my feet stayed wet.I can't tell you how much I wanted these boots to be great because the fit and weight is perfect, but unfortunately I will not be purchasing them again. Hopefully I just got a bad pair, but then again maybe not.Light weight and good traction in the ice and snow. Very little insole support, but added my own. The toe box lands in the area of a little tight to just right. Blacked out the upper silver shoe lace hooks. Passes for a Duty boot, and performs like a trail running shoe. This shoe is very comfortable, i have flat feet and being on my feet for work most of the time i have developed a bunion on my right foot. These shoes provide support and my feet don't hurt like they would from a standard shoe.Having said that, i do not wear these shoes every day i rotate between 3 pairs. I ordered these in may, and the reason they didn't get a full 5 stars is because the metal lace clasp on the top of my left shoe has broken off and i actually cut my knuckles not realizing it was broken. Given the amount of money i spent on these shoes i wouldn't expect a broken clasp from minimal use of these shoes. I don't mind spending a little extra for a durable shoe but i now can't lace my shoes up evenly and its awkward to wear, I feel like Keene can do better for the price.Very good quality, light weight feel, good buy.I couldn't get my right foot into the boot, so I returned the boots. My right foot is bigger than my left, but this model did not have a wide for my numeric size. So after returning, I ordered a different Keen model, same numeric size, but in a wide, and that works. I like Keen boots because the have a roomy toe box.I love the look and feel of this Hiking boot. I've always been a fan of Keens, and this doesn't disappoint. Super comfortable, waterproof, great for wintery outdoors (shoveling snow? No problem). Best part for me? I put elastic boot laces on and I can slip in and out in a second! (That's great for me, getting older, harder to bend down tie all those laces! ?? Highly, HIGHLY reccomend!I bought these for hunting and the up coming winter season. Quick break in period if any. Great ankle support and arch support too. I’ve put some good back Idaho Mountain miles on these and they did great. Feet never got wet or cold.Had these boots for 2 months now they really are practical for long distance hiking, you could wear these and travel many miles in comfort, no hot spots or blisters wearing these, extremely comfortable and lightweight, was looking for a boot that was (not) GORTEX. Being an ex-military personnel we stay well away from Gortex Boots! Get them wet they stay wet! So hard to find a normal boot in a Gortex Driven Market. These boots are awesome, love the Flex the grip the support the comfort and style. Well Done Keen Big Thumbs Up.Really like the look of these boots, which is great but they are also comfortable, light, and (so far!) waterproof. The only minor gripe is that the outer layer stays wet even days after a soaking - this water doesn't seem to be getting in (so far!) so it's not an issue. Need longer use to see how well they fare long term in regards to waterproofing but I have high hopes.I have been a Brasher buyer for many years and as my last pair finally gave up I thought I would look for something new. After reading many reviews, not just Amazon, I decided on these. I am not disappointed. Straight out of the box wear, they are comfy, just the right weight and look good. As big campers, once we are let loose, these will be my go to one pack boots as they will look good anywhere. Great value for money at a sensible price point. If you are looking for new boots, look no further.A great fitting comfy mid boot, these are great straight out the box. Couldn't be happier! The best I have, now and ever.
