Originally I gave 2 stars because: on my first major trip using this shoe (a month after I got it to break it in), it started tearing on both shoes.Now after 4 trips the shoes are unusable. They get sand in the tears, etc.Normally it is the soles of my shoes that wear out - not the uppers.However, I reported the problem via Salomon's website for warranty, sending my photos, and they gave me full credit to buy a new Salomon pair. I've changed to 4 stars and I've now ordered a different model.
