These are great hiking boots! These boots are very waterproofactually stand up to extreme mud situations found in many wild cave crawls. These durable boots will stay on your feet even when hiking in ankle deep, super-thick mud. In the photo, the boots havealready been hosed off to make climbing out of the cave possible. I'm also pretty impressed by the fit and comfort of the boots. There is great arch support. I sized up from my usual 6 1/2 size to size 7 and would recommend a size up if purchasing the boots. I'm so glad I bought these hiking boots. You will be too!I bought these hiking shoes just over a year ago and wanted to wait to write the review after I’d had them a while. The shoes are great for dry hiking and even for rocks that have a slight incline or decline. They fit my size 9 feet comfortably with hiking socks. They are not the best for any type of hiking that is slick, such as mud or slippery rocks. Although they have a good grip on normal dry surfaces, they need a little larger tread for wet or icy surfaces. Overall good normal hiking shoes. Easy to break in and comfortable to wear for long periods of time.I have VERY picky feet (flat arches, wide feet, and bunions) and I love these shoes! The toe box is roomy and the shoes are supportive and comfortable enough to wear for 8+ hours on a concrete floor, as well as being waterproof and great for hiking! This is my 3rd pair and I will continue to buy them as long as they make them! This is one tough boot. It really lasts. The best support of any boot I have used including some of the other major brands. I’ve been having hip and foot problems and this is one of the few boots or shoes that I feel good in. The higher ankle support, stable soles, the arch support and the flexibility of the material combine to make it my favorite yardwork, walking and hiking boot.A solid shoe for sure, but VERY tight. I wear a 7.5 in everything, so I went up a half size for this based on the reviews. The 8 was so tight my feet are still tingling from walking around the living room in them to try them out. If I reorder I will probably go a full size and a half up and get these in a 9.Because I couldn't use them comfortably and want to return them without any wear and tear, I took them off pretty quickly so I can't speak to anything else about the shoe. It does feel very sturdy, and all the detail work is great. It's a good looking shoe, with a reliable heft to it, and the soles look perfect for trails of any kind. Also I ordered the "Bungee Cord" color and just a heads up they're greyer than the advertised item image, and the details are brighter pink than the item picture. The review pics people are sharing that list this color are a much better gauge of the actual colors. These have awesome arch support and I don’t even need to out my own supportive stabilization insoles in them. They also fit true to size and are very comfortable. I haven’t had a better pair of hiking shoes/boots ever. Oh, and the traction is great no slipping on wet rocks or leaves, etc. I highly recommend.I love to hike and every pair of Murrell shoes that I’ve owned has lasted me a long time. It’s helpful if you break the shoes in really well to fit the shape of your feet before going on longer, more strenuous hikes - to help prevent blisters and ensure more comfortable travels. Highly recommend these shoes for any hiker!I am not a huge fan of hiking boots, but these are remarkable for the money. Nice toe box, great fit. Super sturdy and super quality. This is an awesome hiking shoe. Thank s Merrell.Perfect! And arrived way before they said they wouldAs always Merrill has given us another great product. I am a hiker and an everyday walker. These boots were bought for my daily walks and short hikes, longer more technical hikes I use a backpacking boot. The boots fit good except the right boot rubs on my ankle bone but I think a little more wear to break in and soften the offending spot will do the trick. The waterproof boot will be great in the wet mornings at the campsite. These definitely are my my favourite bootes. They are perfect for the winter and kept my feet warm. Excellent for people with wide feet like me. Lots of room for my orthotics. Lots of stability. They do have a stiff sole which is good if you have problems with your feet like I do. They wrap around your feet and there is no sliding in the boot . Perfect fit . Definitely recommendI got these for my wife as a present. She LOVES them! Her feedback... “they’re very light”, “they make my feet look smaller”, “sooo comfortable”, and “I don’t slide in these”.We go for hikes on the weekends. Between 5-10km (3-6 miles). Also daily walks on paths for 4km. Some parts of the path are approx 40degrees with snow and the boots have grip. She has never mentioned her feet being wet from the snow. I imagine I could just scotchguard them if she had issues. Also, I normally replace the insole on footwear when I buy it, to provide better support for the foot. I haven’t done that with these. The insoles are very good for support already. We also have ice cleats (the stretchy rubber ones) for the icy conditions. The cleats slide off sometimes because there aren’t many places for the rubber straps to grab onto. This is less than desirable when you’re walking in deeper snow. I might need to buy strap on ice cleats so I’m not digging through deep snow for rubber ice cleats.Would definitely recommend these... So would my wife...I like these because they are wide enough to be comfortable for my feet , unlike a lot of other brands that seem to only have narrow ones.(and I didn't have to get wides either, just regular.) They work for my high arches, and They don't rub my anchilles' tendon either which is another big plus compared to others. I have been wearing these exact same shoes for several years now, but I finally had to get them replaced. They really hold up well, and have good cushioning and great traction. I walk at least an hour a day. Sometimes on fields ,sometimes on pavement and sometimes on rocky hills. I was so happy to find that they hadn't changed anything in them.
