What a total disappointment! These boots were not 2A narrow. Not even close. The toe box was too wide, the boots were heavy and were NOT a true fit - ran short by 1/2 size. Drew footwear has gone downhill!I liked the look of these boots but they were a bit high on the ankle for me. Also I discovered that I really did not need a hiking boot but could use a lower but hiking shoe. It bothered my ankles. But the boot is very nice looking and not heavy.I have been searching for hiking boots that fit my E width feet. No one makes E width, they go from D to EE. These wide width boots are perfect! I wish they had a little more arch support but I am going to purchase a pair of superfeet for them. I searched for these boots for 20 years! I can finally hike with comfortable feet!! And, I didn't have to pay thousands of dollars for custom boots!!! I am ecstatic!!! I hope this review helps women out there with my odd foot size to find what they are looking for. I am back on the trail in full force!! Thank you DREW!!!!!!!!!I purchased these boots for my trip to Iceland. While they weren’t comfy like sneakers or cross trainers, they worked very well. I’d say these are stiff at first, but the stiffness keeps your ankles stable. I did not get any blisters or chafing, and they are definitely waterproof, which also makes them plenty warm. I was easily able to remove the insole and replace it with my custom insole. Worked brilliantly.The only criticism I have is that the tongue is attached too high making it difficult to open the boot wide enough to get my foot in. Often people have swelling off and on which makes a lace up shoe or boot the best option as it makes it easier to get the shoe/boot on and off and to adjust it to your feet once it is on. With the tongue attached to the boot in such a high position it makes it difficult if not impossible to get this boot on; once it’s on it’s pretty comfortable, but I have to allow 10-15 minutes just to get them on somedays.After trying several other hiking boots, this pair finally fit my feet just right. I had surgery on both feet to remove neuromas, and the toe box needs to be wide in order not to hurt my feet. This boot works great!Good boots for those with hallux limitus (arthritis in big toe). These boots come in wide, so can put an orthotic in them if needed. The sole is rigid, which is what I needed for arthritis in big toe. The top is stretchy, so doesn't put weight on top of arthritic big toe. The yellow trim is attractive.Fit on the 8 x-wide is more narrow than expected. They should provide a measurement, centimeters of the foot bed so you can match your actual foot to their sizing.... and reduce the need for returns!! 4 stars only b/c of lack of clarity on how to fit their sizing chart.
