Columbia Women's Fire Venture Low Waterproof Hiking Shoe - Lightweight & Durable for Outdoor Adventures, Trail Running & Camping

I'm a 6.5, but I've noticed with the last couple of sneakers I've bought online that most companies make them too narrow. I decided to go with a size 7, and I'm glad I did. Columbia makes a narrow toe box, which stinks because I have a normal foot, and feel I shouldn't have any constrictions. Most sneakers have a pointy toe box which I don't like because they look elfish, but I didn't want to spend a mini fortune. I was originally looking at expensive hiking sneakers for everyday wear, thinking I would get more years out of them compared to regular ones. After researching them based on others reviews I felt that they wouldn't last any more or less then a cheaper pair. When I saw these for $56, I felt that it was a good deal, considering a regular pair of premium sneakers start at 70, $80, and they don't last long either. I cant say these are a memory foam comfort, but the insoles are removable. I don't have any foot issues so for me these will be fine for everyday use. They are lightweight, not clunky or heavy like you'd find at the $35 price range. The waterproofing is also a nice feature at this price range.I so wanted to keep this shoe. It comes in size 12! That's a rarity. And it fit beautifully. Very comfortable. Very well made, high quality materials. Great style and color - the turquoise blue is fantastic. The problem is that the sole is too thin for actual trail use. I tested it on some lumpy things in the house - the threshold on a couple of different doors, stones in the hearth, etc. These things aren't even as sharp and pointy as stones on a trail, but I could still feel every protruding bump on them. I could not feel the bumps when wearing some lightweight men's hikers that I also purchased at the same time. I had the same problem with Columbia Redmond that I tested at a store. The women's version of Redmond had a visually thinner sole that also did not protect against hard bumpy things in the store as well as the men's version. So, as much as I wanted to purchase an actual women's shoe (something I don't often get to do as a size 12), I ended up getting a beefier men's light hiking shoe from Columbia. For general use or on smooth trails, this shoe would be wonderful. Just not what I need it for.Yes, that's blood on the ankle of the right shoe... take it from me it's a bad idea to go for a long walk (3 hours) in a brand new pair of these. Quite tight at the toe area as well (This was inexplicably more noticeable on one foot vs the other).The good news is that after a few months of breaking these in, they no longer hurt. I also initially tried the hairdryer trick and made my bf wear them on the treadmill for an hour, but what worked in the end was just sticking with it and wearing them for an hour a day till they bent to your will.Very comfortable, keep my feet dry. Walked around in the summer heat in these and my feet were a little warm, but nothing you wouldn't expect when wearing socks and shoes. They are nice and neutral looking, so they don't scream "hiking boot!" which means I feel comfortable wearing these to the kids' soccer practices, grocery shopping, etc. I gave them a 4/5 because the tread on my husband's running shoes was deeper than these. That being said, I didn't have problems with grip. It just seemed a little odd.I feel like I got a great deal with these hiking shoes. I wear an 11.5 (which no one makes, so I always end up with 12's slightly big, or an 11 on the small side), and I have somewhat wide feet. I ordered a 12, and with socks on, they fit great. I was on some slippery moss wood boards today, and they were still slippery, but on wet rocks, the shoe handled just fine and I didn't slip. Also, it was raining today, and the water beaded right off the shoe and my feet stayed dry, but cool. It hugs your ankle at the top, but in a very cushiony comfortable way. For a low top, there is actually a little bit of ankle support. Great deal and I would buy again!I have a very hard time finding shoes that fit. My normal shoe size is women's 11 but wish 11.5 were available. Occasionally I find a women's 12 running shoe that works, but usually end up with a man's shoe. I was so thrilled to find a women's 12 hiking shoe and the reviews added hope that I found THE ONE! I really wanted to like them, but they were not quite a half size too small. I am rating a 4 because otherwise i lived them. Returning.Amazing! I got these the day before I was going on an 8 hour hiking trip and they exceeded my expectations! They were fine without having to be broken in! And they did not leave my feet sore by the end of the day! Will definitely recommend to anyone in need of a great affordable hiking shoe! I can't say much about how waterproof they are though because I haven't worn them in or near water yet.I love these hiking boots! I have already been on two short hiking adventures since I got them. After participating in several marathons my feet have become very sensitive. If I don’t choose very comfortable chose, I end up with pain at the end of the day. Aber das ließ sich mit Lüften auf dem Balkon in zwei Stunden beheben.Die Schuhe sind sehr bequem und haben sich sowohl während eines Städteurlaubs als auch auf ausgedehnten Spaziergängen bewährt. Wasserdicht sind sie auch, solange man nicht in einen kompletten Wolkenbruch gerät. Würde ich mir erneut kaufen, zumal auch die Farben so sind, wie auf den Bildern zu sehen.ich hatte mir diese Schuhe eine halbe Nummer grösser bestellt, musste sie jedoch zurückschicken, da zu gross. Nun habe ich sie in meiner normalen Schuhnummer erhalten und ich bin voll zufrieden. Die Schuhe sind leicht und sehr bequem, ideal um mit den Hunden durch Berg und Tal zu wandern.
