These boots fit comfortably right out of the box. True to size. I started buying Merrells several years ago, and I won't buy anything else now. They are sturdy and solid, without weighing a ton. I expect these to last a long time. My Moab Ventilator hiking shoes are 7-8 years old and show minimal wear.So far seems like a great boot. I got the waterproof style. Felt a little warm, but that was after working all day then getting home and trying them on. All in all I'm happy with them.I found these boots comfortable from the first time I put them on. There was no break-in period whatsoever. I might have had doubts about durability because of this, but my cousin has a pair of MOAB 1s that have lasted him for years. He's finally going to replace those, and will be going with the MOAB 3s.They squeaked two hikes in a row, finally reading reviews on other boots, this is a very common complaint among hikers. I followed others advice and added some foot powders to the insides and that virtually eliminated the pesky squeaking. These were worn on rocky uneven terrain as well as a flat wide sandy trail twice totaling 14 miles with no issues whatsoever. These are keepers.These are very nice boots at a really good price. I did purchase insoles to increase comfort but did not need to.Great fit fast service can not ask for any more. Just as pictured, would recommend for these type of products.So comfortable! Perfect fit. My daughter, who has size 11.5 women's wears these and they are her favorite shoes for a hilly college campus.I’m normally pretty tough to fit for a shoe. These were phenomenal best fit I’ve had in the shoe off the rackThe label says "waterproof" but it isn't - prob not even water repellant. Got it out of box (comfortable wear) and went for a short hike. It happened to rain (not storm) and I continued walking the trail in forested area. No potholes or big puddles of water but before 30 min was over, my boots were soaking wet inside. I was disappointed cos if label says Moab 3 Mid-Repellant/resistant - I would not be that disappointed. My boots didn't even step into big puddles of water, but toebox were just soaked. After 30 min, I could pour out water. Apart from that component, the boots are comfortable to wear straight out of box.
